Nicole Scherbarth has been using a combination of her skills as an aquatics fitness instructor, adaptive swim teacher, recreation therapist and aquatic therapist to help her clients recover from traumatic injuries and chronic pain for 18 years. She is the founder and owner of RAW Therapy, LLC, and Director of S3 Aquatics Program, which is an innovative and specialized total aquatics program utilizing Montessori methodology.
Nicole is eclectic in her approach to recovery, using a variety of techniques to assist clients in reaching their goals. Her Recreation Therapy approach focuses on a client to reinvent themselves after an injury, uncovering previous interests and exploring outside of the box leisure interests. Specially trained in the area of aquatics therapy and adaptive aquatics, Nicole is also trained in therapy for catastrophic injuries with multiple issues. She has specific training in aquatic bodywork techniques, including Trained in Watsu, Bad Regaz (American Style), Burdenko, Aquastretch and Ai Chi which are particularly helpful with anxiety, fear, pain as well as neuro recovery.

Joan graduated April 2012 from EMU with a bachelors in Recreational Therapy. She is the Program Manager of S3 Aquatics program and is dual certified as an Recreation and Aquatic Therapist. She owns Joan of Art, LLC providing mindful Recreation and Aquatic Therapy for individuals with a variety of abilities. She interested in promoting and advocating Recreational Therapy in a variety of environments, especially through aquatics programming.
